I’m Douglas James Vail, founder of FaithWorks Pictures, and a filmmaker with a comprehensive, hands-on command of the independent Christian film industry. With a deep-rooted background in directing, producing, cinematography, editing, and marketing, I offer a rare end-to-end solution for faith-based storytelling—from creative inception to final distribution.

My filmmaking journey has spanned over a decade, shaped not only by creative pursuits but by real-world business acumen. Prior to launching FaithWorks, I served as a marketing director for medical technology companies, where I led successful product launches and honed a strategic, results-driven mindset. This experience now directly informs how I produce, position, and pitch films in today’s competitive entertainment market.

I’ve written and directed feature films, acted in digital series, and served as lead editor and post-production designer on projects that achieved national theatrical distribution—including premieres alongside major studio releases like The Batman in 2022. One of my most recognized works reached the Top 3 on Amazon Prime’s “Most Watched Films in the U.S.” in March 2025 and was distributed globally in over 15 languages. I’ve walked red carpets, secured deals at the Cannes Film Festival, and forged relationships with industry leaders that continue to support my projects.​
